About

Born in Yerevan, Armenia, in 1992, Armen Johni started to get introduced into the work of Old Masters by his father, John Baghdasaryan, a sculptor. From a very young age he showed huge passion in art, and until the age of 11 he learned drawing and clay modeling from his father. At that time, his father had to move to Barcelona, Spain, where unfortunately he passed away. This tragic moment had a significant impact on him, and despite continuing to assist art academy for some time, he decided to drop it due to the lack of motivation. A few years later he would move to Barcelona himself.

Once in Barcelona, Armen Johni focused mainly on his studies. Besides his interest in Art, he was excellent in Maths, Geometry and applied sciences. After graduating from school, he decided to pursue a career in engineering. He ended up graduating from the Polytechnical University of Catalonia as an Aerospace Vehicle Engineer and in parallel he would study Software Engineering.

Few years into the engineering career, he noticed that there was something quite important missing in his life, and that was Art. By the age of 20 he returned to his passion, while continuing to grow in his professional career. He mainly focuses on oil paintings (landscapes and portraiture), ink drawings and mixed-media drawings.
